Blog Post 1: Bible Archaeology

From my group presentation, I learned new details about Jesus' miracles. I already knew the basic idea of the stories, but not about the all the details about the wine at Cana and the loaves and fishes. I was not aware Jesus made more wine for a wedding, I just thought it was for his followers. I was also not aware of the big detail that this miracle was Jesus' first miracle he ever performed. This is a big detail because people started to really believe Jesus was the Son of God. For the loaves and fishes, I did not know before researching that there was leftover food. Jesus is so powerful, he not only helped people from starving; he provided an abundance of food. Below are two photos of Jesus performing the two miracles:

Pontius-Pilate.jpgFrom my classmates' presentations, I learned many new things. I found this interesting because I have not really learned anything new about Jesus for a while. For example, I learned more about Pontius Pilate and his story. I was not aware that there was choice of who to kill- Jesus (innocent) or a guilty man. Even though Pontius Pilate knew Jesus was innocent, he still killed him. I was not aware that there was a choice between two people, and am glad I learned this.

I found many parts of Jesus' life interesting, but what I find most interesting is the Shroud of Turin. It is so cool that someone's face is depicted clearly on a cloth. And it is also very cool that we found it. Although it is not for sure Jesus, there are some details that suggest it is him. For example, there is what it looks like to be a crown of thorns that were on the man's head. Also there looks to be holes in the man's hands and feet, which Jesus had when crucified on the cross. This is so interesting to me that this is a thing.

Two people that display Jesus in my life are my aunt and my mom. They are both always caring for me and loving. They are always there for me when I need them. I know that I can go to them for anything and everything. They are also always forgiving in the end. Although they may be angry at me for something, they will eventually forgive me and continue to love me, no matter what. Jesus was also all-forgiving and all-loving to all.
