Thomas Groome expressed all his thoughts in his book, and did not hold anything back. He wrote that Catholicism is a spirituality, universal to the human heart. He also stated that just because people don't worship something because they don't agree or believe it, it does not mean they aren't spiritual. People see God in all different ways; no one sees God in the same way. He explained that priests are not here to tell you what to believe, and instead they are supposed to be guidance to find God. Lastly, Groome mentioned that religion and spirituality don't have to go hand in hand, but they should in order to last.
From Pope Francis' clip, I learned many new things. I was not very familiar with Pope Francis, before this clip, but I feel I now have a better understanding of who he is and what he does. He puts all others and the world in front of himself; he is very selfless. He cares for the less fortunate, and does all he can to help them. He was given a house, with non-perishable foods. Without keeping these for himself, he went out into the streets, and gave the food to the homeless. This was a very selfless act that I admired.
Pope Francis is trying to have more religious tolerance throughout the world. He is allowing people to worship as they would like, instead of declaring there are only certain ways to worship. He is also trying to help the less fortunate. Instead of acting like he is above others, he does normal day things and talks to people like normal. He does not think of himself as better than anyone else. He wants equality for all, and wants to allow people do as they please.
For the present day Church, I have many hopes. These hopes are in effect now. Pope Francis has put my hopes into play in the Church today. I want to help the less fortunate, and a world of peace and love. This is what Pope Francis has fought for, and got an effect of. He cares for all, no matter their beliefs or what they do.
